Artist and Costume Designer
My Story
I am a costume designer and artist whose work reflects my interest in exploring worlds which bridge abstract design with current events. I recognize the importance of activism through storytelling. I aim to uplift voices through meticulous design, creative imagination, and careful exploration. I will graduate this year with an MFA in Design and Technology from Brooklyn College, City University of New York, where I have worked as a Costume Shop Theater Technician and an Adjunct Professor in Costume Design. I received my BA in Theater and Film at Rutgers University and currently resides in New York City.
It is my mission to be a part of and create a space for women and LGBTQ+ persons, especially those of color, so they feel represented and feel recognized. I seek to engage in a community of creators who are often alienated and forgotten. I want to focus my designs on inclusive stories that explore the complexities and intersectional conflicts of society. It is also in my goal to work on projects which create and challenge the way we see and utilize design thereby driving a futuristic look into my work, that allows space for reflection and the possibility of societal change by engaging in theater and film.
